He was a veteran of the Korean War which he served on the USS New Jersey. He was also a member of the Saint Marks Lutheran Church.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edna Hebel; sisters, Diane Clark, Helen Denzik, Wilma Regis; and a great granddaughter, Avery Hebel.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Joan Quillin Hebel; children, Brian Hebel (Mary), Nathan Hebel (Holly) and Julie Sterling Hebel.
Allen also leaves his grandchildren, Chris (Kass), Jason (Courtney), Keith (Danielle), Hunter, Natalee; great-grandchildren, Ryan, William, Colton, Ellie, Hagan; and a beloved Dog Ginger.
“His busy hands are folded. His work on earth is done. His troubles all are ended. His heavenly crown is won.”
A funeral service will be on Thursday at 1:00pm at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home (7710 Dixie Highway) with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery. A visitation will be Thursday from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home.
