

She was born on September 12, 1932, in Green County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William C. Milby and Lily B. Thompson Milby.
Marie was a strong and faithful Christian who devoted her life to Christ. She lived out her faith daily, following His teachings with a humble heart and unwavering devotion. She found great comfort and wisdom in reading and reflecting on the Bible, which was a constant companion throughout her life.
All who knew Marie were touched by her kind spirit and helpful, agreeable nature. She had a gentle way of making others feel seen, heard, and loved.
Marie was a retired educator, having served in both the Jefferson County and Green County Public School systems. Her love for teaching and her students left a lasting legacy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William F. Perkins, who passed away on September 13, 2004; three brothers, Ivan R. Milby, Garland B. Milby, and Ronny G. Milby; and two sisters, Marcella Lange and Charlotte M. Stumph.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Tracy Perkins of Louisville; and her granddaughters, Carley Perkins, Elizabeth Perkins, and Laney Perkins. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Marie’s life was one of faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will occur on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 5-7PM at Arch L. Heady and Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222. A Celebration of Life Service will beginning at 7PM in the chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son Westport Village. Marie will be laid to rest privately in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville, Kentucky.
