Audrey Rose Waddell

Audrey Allen Waddell, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brandenburg, Kentucky, to Bert and Margaret Allen. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ed Allen.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill “Randy” Waddell; her children, Melanie Findley (Eric), Nicklaus Waddell, and Miranda Waddell; her grandchildren, Ariel Jo Winebrenner (Shane), Hannah Marie Findley, Payne Michael Randolph Findley; as well as her great-grand child Walker Payne Winebrenner. Audrey is also survived by her siblings, Helen Hardesty and Marjorie Tyree.

Audrey was a proud graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park High School. After marrying her high school sweetheart Randy she attended the University of Alabama, Audrey went on to earn a nursing degree from the University of Louisville, followed by a BSN from the University of Kentucky. She worked at Jewish Hospital and later in Home Health as an IV Specialist.

Throughout her life, Audrey demonstrated incredible strength, courage, and resilience, battling Multiple Sclerosis for 40 years. Her unwavering determination inspired all who knew her.

Audrey had a deep love for her family, celebrating birthdays and family gatherings with great joy. She was an avid supporter of the Louisville Cardinals, frequently attending football games and tailgating. She also enjoyed watching PRP sports, especially Panther baseball and enjoyed the Kentucky Derby each year.

Audrey’s kindness, dedication, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation for Audrey will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272. A funeral will occur Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel. An entombment will take place Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213.
