Born and raised in Kentucky, Bettie lived a life rich in faith, family, laughter, generosity, and hospitality. Though she spent many years in banking, she will be remembered most for the warmth she offered beyond her work-for the way she welcomed people into her home, made room for them in her heart, and helped them feel that they belonged.
Bettie was a loving mother to Marty Simonson (Missy Rose), Robin Eddy (Willy), Robert Simonson, Susan Thomas, and Holly Driscoll, as well as a mother / grandmother to Chealsea Allen. She was a cherished grandmother, to Ross Simonson (Miricle), Avery Simonson, Bill Mills (Brandi), Alex Jimenez (Preston), Stephanie Browning (Christian), Amy Simonson, Joseph David “JD” Staats (Brittney), Chealsea Allen, Alex Thomas, Lucas Driscoll, Lily Driscoll, and many great-grandchildren.
Bettie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman J. Bullock.
Her love for her family was steady and generous, and her influence reached beyond them to the many friends and loved ones whose lives she touched.
Those who knew Bettie will remember her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and giving heart. She had a gift for bringing warmth and joy into ordinary moments. Her love of roses reflected something beautiful about her own life: she noticed and treasured beauty, and she shared it freely with others. Her home and her heart were places of welcome, kindness, and care.
Above all, Bettie was devoted to Jesus. She shared her faith freely and made people feel loved and valued. Her love for the Lord was evident not only in her words, but also in the way she welcomed others, encouraged them, and gave of herself. She cherished gospel music, and in her final moments, her children surrounded her with singing and prayer.
Bettie will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her laughter, humor, hospitality, faith, and generous love will remain part of the lives she shaped. The kindness she offered and the faith she shared will continue through the many people who were blessed to know her.
