Beverly was born in Louisville to the late Herschel and Delvina Canary, was a member of Hillview Baptist Church, and former partner in the family business Mobile Accessories. She was an avid fan of the University of Louisville women’s basketball and softball teams. She also enjoyed watching Nascar races. Beverly was a supporter of the Myakka Elephant Ranch and various Native American organizations.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Darrell Atwell; a son, Tim Atwell (Edna); a daughter, Chaney Atwell; a grandson, Chris Harless (Chelsey); a great-grandson, Chase Harless; sisters, Freda Cunningham (Trenna) and Jennalisa Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial visitation will be held from 3 PM – 6 PM at Advantage Funeral Home – Heady Dixie, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by a memorial service at 6 PM on Wednesday, September 2.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Myakka Elephant Ranch.
The family would also like to ask for visitors to refrain from bringing food and refreshments to the funeral home.
The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care that was received at Jewish Hospital and Signature HealthCARE at Summerfield, as well as the many prayers and comforting thoughts that were received during Beverly’s care.
