Bruce Dwayne Burden

On January 27, 1971, Bruce Dwayne Burden, 55, was born to Morris and Sharon Burden in Louisville, Kentucky. On August 30, 2026, he passed peacefully while surrounded by the overwhelming love of family and friends. His legacy will forever be remembered through his faith, loyalty to his people, and the gentle way in which he moved through the world. He will be missed for his humor and warm comforting hugs by each and every person who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Bruce is survived by his father, Morris C. Burden; his mother, Sharon M. Burden; his sons, Jordan C. Burden (Abagaile), Logan D. Burden (Sandra), and Easton R. Burden (Miranda); his sister, Tracy L. Kaikis (John); his grandchildren, Aurora and Waylon Burden; his nephews, Tristan, Spencer, Jackson, and Zachary Kalkis; and his niece, Nicole Oesch. As well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Bruce’s greatest passion in life was that of his family. He was always supportive and compassionate in every conversation he had with the people he loved. He was full of soft spots for many, but his most tender was for his grandchildren, who became the light of his life when they came into the world. He deeply treasured his parents and sister, always showering them with love, especially on his social media. He was most proud of his boys, not only for their accomplishments, but most importantly their character; and never let a conversation end without expressing his gratitude for bringing their partners into his life

Many will remember him as the family photographer, capturing moments with a tenderness and adoration that could be felt even through a screen. Bruce also found joy in bowling, softball, golfing, and visiting the beach; simple pleasures that suited his adventurous spirit and his ability to be fully present.

Bruce was a man of many friendships, and was truly a stranger to none. These connections, whether from his youth or along the way, can all recount cherished memories of Bruce to bring laughter or tears. A youthful memory that remained especially dear was the BSB Crew. This is an enduring reminder of what he valued and returned in full, with a heart big enough for everyone.

For 33 years, Bruce worked as a plumber in the Louisville area. He was hard-working and resilient, showing up day after day with a dependable heart. He approached his work with care and precision, and even as a visitor would never hold in his thoughts of the shoddy work he observed. Thoughtful in how he treated others, but would never think twice to give someone in need the shirt off of his back, no matter his own predicaments.

To know Bruce was to love him, for his means of laughter, kind-hearted spirit, commitment to generosity, and undying love for everyone who touched his life. His loss will be one felt for eternity here on Earth.

Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville, Kentucky 40222, on September 13, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at the same location on September 13, 2026, beginning at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce's memory may be made to Arch L. Heady and Son - Westport Road to assist with final expenses.
