She was the former Carol Brooks, a former activities director for Rockford Manor Nursing Home and a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Jerrold Allen; a daughter, Leah Dobson (Jamie); her mother, Helen Brooks; sisters, Theresa Pirtle (Gary) and Jan Rein (Jeff); and five grandchildren, Caleb, Victoria, Olivia, Sydni and Juliana.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2006 at Heady- Hardy Funeral Home. A cemetery committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Central at the Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church in Welch's Creek, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and noon -8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
