Born in Lebanon, Kentucky on Thursday, May 4, 1939, Donnie was the son of the lates’ Lawrence Myers and Geraldine Gootee. He was retired from American Airlines where he worked as a member of the ground crew. He and Dorothy were members of St. Rita Catholic Church, and he was a member of the Eagle’s Men Club with St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Donnie loved to play poker, loved to travel, was a good joke teller and was a passionate UK Wildcats fan. Donnie lived a full life! A life – well – lived!
Besides his parents, Lawrence and Geraldine Myers; his children, Pam Slovacek and Steven Myers; his brother, Joe Lee Myers; his son – in – law, Jeff Coke; and several other loving family members precede Donnie in his passing.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 68 loving years, Dorothy Ann Myers; daughter, Janet Coke; son, Victor (Vickie) Myers; 9 – grandchildren; 8 – great – grandchildren; brother, Larry; sisters, Ernestine and Mary; as well as a host of other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel. A short Prayer Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by the remainder of Visitation. Per his wishes, cremation was chosen, Donnie will be laid to rest at a later date in the Garden of Time of the Evergreen Cemetery and Garden Mausoleums.
In lieu of flowers and customary expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions can be directed in memory of Donnie to St. Jude.
