She was a retired teacher’s assistant for the Jefferson County Board of Education and a member of the Civil Air Patrol vets.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, William Steiner.
Survivors include her children Judy Simmons, Bill Steiner, Fred (James) Steiner, John Steiner, Donald Steiner and Jackie Steiner; brothers, Tommy and Buddy Jackson; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 Thursday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Wednesday.
