

West Point, KY – Age 93
Francis E. "Flash" Curl, 93, of West Point, KY, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 19, surrounded by his loving family.
A proud U.S. Army Veteran, Flash dedicated his life to service—retiring from Waste Management and Valley Sanitation, and later working with West Point Lumber Company. He served his community as a member of the West Point Fire Department from 1956 to 1990, retiring as Fire Inspector.
An avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, Flash never missed a game. In retirement, he found joy in beekeeping and mowing the yard on his favorite toy—his mower. He was a devoted family man and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. "Dude" Curl and Arnie Mae Bennett; stepmother, Mary Lucille Curl; brother, William D. "Man" Curl; and stepsister, Margaret Jantez.
Flash is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lavinda Lee Curl; his son, Eddie Curl (Lisa); sister in law Anita Mathews, grandchildren, Andrea (Jaime) Sellers and Elizabeth (Zac) Neu; and great-grandchildren, Arthur Sellers and Lee Thomas Neu and several loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, August 27, at 12:00 Noon, with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, laughter, and love that will not be forgotten.
