George Fredrick Wethington, Jr, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at his home in Louisville. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday, December 26, 1951 to George Fredrick Wethington, Sr. and Catherine Dant.
He worked for Reynolds Aluminum Company and had a lifelong curiosity about science. Music was another joy as he played guitar and spent time playing in a band in his youth. Other hobbies George enjoyed are gardening, tinkering in the garage, working on cars, and following sports – especially cheering on his Green Bay Packers! He and his brother shared a fondness for exchanging unusual gifts, and his family remembers the odd, affectionate names they called these gifts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Fredrick Wethington, Sr and Catherine Dant.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Keri Vanhooser (Derek Crawhorn), Dena Keith (Jonathan), and Freddy Wethington; his grandchildren, Jaxin, Jaida, Noah, Pearson; his brother, Joe Wethington; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, October 18, 2026 from 2pm until 5pm at 713 Colonel Anderson Pkwy, Louisville, Kentucky, 40222.
