Gilbert L. Johnson, Sr., 77, of Louisville, went to meet his Heavenly Father with his family by his side on Thursday, May 03, 2012, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community. He was owner of Forming and Coatings, Inc. and former pastor for Community of Christ. He was a former state chaplain for Good Sam Camping Club. He also was a retired master sergeant having served 24 years with the Army National Guard.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Bertha (Risinger) Johnson; two sons, Troy (Sandy) and Gilbert Johnson, Jr. (Lisa); a daughter, Victoria L’Heureux (Tony); a brother, Alan Johnson (Mary); two sisters, Norma Neville and Beverly Leverette; four grandchildren, Lauren Hobbs, Casie, Caitlin, and Maddie Johnson; and two great-grandsons.
His funeral service will be on Monday at 2pm at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8519 Preston Highway with cremation following. Visiting will be on Sunday from 1pm until 8pm.
