Hadren David Spicer Sr.

Hadren David Spicer, Sr.,96, entered into rest on Sunday, June 19, 2016.He was retired from Federal service at Fort Knox and from the US Army, where he served in World War II and the Korean War. He served in Kodiak, Alaska, the south Pacific and Korea. Mr. Spicer was a member of the Kosair Shrine and attended Kosmosdale Baptist Church. He was preceded in rest by his sisters, Althea Spicer, Gayola Spicer and Lou Glenna Miller; and brothers, James and Haymond Spicer. Mr. Spicer is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nellie Spicer; three sons, David, Steven (Julia) and Kevin (Susan) Spicer; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Freda Tatterson and Mary Nell Chaffin.His funeral will be on Thursday at 11am at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11am until 8pm. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Kosair Charities or the American Cancer Society.
