Helen Marie Moore, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Springview Health and Recreation Center in Leitchfield, KY. She was born on February 16, 1938 in Myers, Kentucky to Cosby and Iva Gray. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Rock; a brother, Donald Gray; a son, Steven Williams; her 1st husband, Donald Williams; and her 2nd husband, Walt Moore.
Helen is survived by her sister, Charlene (David) Nettleship; her sons, David (Julie) Williams, Mark Williams; her grandchildren, David Williams Jr, Levi (Tamra) Williams, Steven C. Williams; a nephew, Greg (Mary) Gray; and great grandchildren, Garrett Williams and Lanie Williams.
Just a few things about Helen: She lived in Kentucky nearly all her life and was a huge KY basketball fan. She loved to cook! She always added her own touch to any food. Whenever her friends and relatives got together they all agreed she was a great cook and everyone seems to have their personal favorite meal. She loved this country and was proud of the fact that her 1st husband served in the Marines, her 2nd husband served in the Army, her son David in the Air Force and her son Mark in the Army. She was a loving caretaker. She and her sisters took care of her mom after she was paralyzed in an auto accident. She took care of her husband, Walt, for years as he battled cancer. She took care of her sister, Vivian, after she suffered a major stroke. Helen was a great person and will be truly missed.
As per her wishes, Helen will be entombed next to her husband Walt in the Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville KY on July 24, 2023. A celebration of life is planned in the near future for family and friends.
