

He was a retired conductor with the Norfolk South Railroad after 29 years and a former local chairman with the UTU. He enjoyed working on and with computers after he retired from the railroad.
Houston was preceded in death by his parents, Mont and Emma McCorkle, and a son, Doug McCorkle.
He is survived by a son, Lee Mont McCorkle (Denise); a daughter, Mary Mann (Jack); five grandchildren, Samantha Wiedmar, Jordan Moore, Jay Barnett, Miller McCorkle and Jack
Barnett; three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Levi Wiedmar and Thomas Moore, Jr.; a brother,
Michael McCorkle; and two sisters, Shirley Baldwin and Tina Hurst.
His funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 3rd, at 2pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visiting will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2pm until 8pm and Wednesday from 10am until the time of service.
