

Growing up he enjoyed days in the cub scouts and many spaghetti dinners and Saturday morning Krispy Kreme donut deliveries. He received accolades for his swimming prowess as a member of WHCC swim club. A Naval Vietnam Veteran proudly serving on the USS Enterprise in the 1970's.
Preceded in death by his Father John W. Shartzer, brother Vernon Shartzer, nephew Jon Colin Sweazy.
He is survived by his mother Faye Shartzer, siblings Penny Benton, husband David, Gretchen Moore, husband Brian, Jeff Shartzer, wife Kathleen. Left to cherish decades of countless memories is his longtime partner and best friend Gerry Holt Chance; along with her children whom he adored and considered family. Numerous nieces and nephews who remember his favorite saying.."tell you what”, followed by endless impressions and plenty of belly laughs.
Mike had physical struggles with his health most of his adult life. Yet never bitter and always kind and giving of his mechanical skills and cooking prowess. HE LOVED HIS UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY WILDCATS——GO BIG BLUE !!l He will be missed dearly and remembered often by all those whose life he touched.
A graveside service will take place at Brookland Cemetery in Shepherdsville, KY with the date to be determined at a later time.
