It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Ross Brown, age 38, of Louisville, who left us unexpectedly on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his home. Born on March 23, 1987, in Louisville, Jason was a beloved son, a cherished friend, and a dedicated community member whose spirit touched the lives of many.
Jason was the son of Keith and Carla (Tillett) Brown, and he grew up in a loving family that instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and community service. A proud graduate of Trinity High School in 2005, he furthered his education at the University of Louisville, where he cultivated his entrepreneurial spirit.
As the owner and operator of Brownies "The Shed" Grille and Bar, Jason created a welcoming space for friends and family to gather, share laughter, and enjoy good food. His passion for community engagement led him to co-found Eventris with his dear friend, Joey Wagner, where they organized events such as Pink Prom. As well as The Turkey Drive, held annually at Brownies, his mission will live on, bringing joy and support for those in need. We hope this will be the biggest year yet.
A devoted member of Southeast Christian Church, Jason found strength and fellowship in the Men's Bible Study group, where he formed lasting friendships and shared his faith. He was known for his warm heart, infectious smile, unmistakable laugh, and the way he made everyone feel like family. He will be remembered by the little ones who adored him as their cherished 'Uncle J', a testament to his nurturing spirit and the love he shared with those around him.
Jason is survived by his loving parents, Keith and Carla Brown; his faithful dog, Sockie; his grandmothers, JoAnn Tillett and Rosie Brown; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Carl Tillett and Tim Brown, along with many cherished family members who passed before him.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Chapel in the Woods, 1407 Moser Road, Louisville, KY 40299, followed by Memorial Services from 2:00-3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to FEAT of Louisville, 1100 East Market Street, Louisville, KY 40206 (www.featoflouisville.org), an organization close to Jason's heart.
Jason's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village.
