Jean was very protective of her family and loved nothing more than spending time with her loved ones, especially cooking and feeding those she cared for. She enjoyed being in her yard, tending to her flowers and feeding the birds and the squirrels. Painting and crafts were a couple of her hobbies, and she loved watching Gunsmoke.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Claude Castle, her sons Ronald Castle Sr., Paul Castle, and Mike Castle, and special grandson Donald Castle Jr.
Survived by her children Donald Castle Sr. (Evelyn), Mary Alexander (Joe), her very special grandson Robert Castle, 12 beloved grandchildren, 26 cherished great-grandchildren, 10 amazing great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Schoppenhorst Funeral & Cremation Services at Okolona, (previously Arch L. Heady and Son) 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40219, on October 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on October 15, 2026, at the same location at 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216, to follow.
