

Born the youngest of 14 children to the lates’ Henry A. Labhart and Leona Thompson, Joan was welcomed into this world in Tell City, Indiana on Sunday, July 14, 1935. A devoted homemaker, she found great joy in caring for her family and creating a welcoming home. Gifted with a creative spirit, she loved painting, working crossword puzzles, and pursuing anything artistic that allowed her imagination to flourish. She was especially known for her love of cooking and baking, spending countless hours in the kitchen preparing meals, treats, and cherished family recipes.
Besides her parents, Henry A. and Leona (Thompson) Labhart; her husband, Kenneth Lee Berg, Sr.; and her 13 brothers and sisters, precede her in her passing.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kenny, Rick (Brenda), Eddie (Sharon), Steven and Mark (Tina); 9 – grandchildren; 15 – great – grandchildren; 6 – great – great – grandchildren; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the Chapel of Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel. Joan will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park immediately following the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and then again on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel.
