He was retired from the Louisville Metro Police Department and a veteran of the Air Force.
Mr. Cavanaugh is survived by his wife, Connie Cavanaugh; a son, Kent Cavanaugh (Stacy); two daughters, Erin Lawson and Candie Bates (Bill); and six grandchildren, including Jonathon, Matthew, Loren, Tye, Breauna and Curtis.
His funeral service will be on Tuesday at noon at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2pm-8pm.
