Gillespie, John K., 65, entered into rest on Saturday surrounded by family. He was retired from Philip Morris after 27 years as a forklift operator. Mr. Gillespie was preceded in rest by his father and mother, Warren Gillespie and Mabel Robinson, and a brother-in-law, Denver Newsome. He is survived by his wife of five years, Phyllis Gillespie; two daughters, Sonya Gillespie (Garry) and Lori Gore (Rusty); two stepdaughters, Amanda Barton (Wendell) and Billie Gibbs (Eric); nine grandchildren, Cameron, Cody, Caylie, Krista, Jordan, Shane, Erica, Sam and Josh; a brother, Roger Gillespie (Bev) and three sisters, Joyce Coleman (Frank); Teresa Rich (Jack) and Mary Newsome .His funeral will be on Thursday at 1:30 at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3pm until 8pm.
