He was a good Christian man and loving husband, father, and Poppy. Tim was a lifelong member of Fairdale Christian Church and retired from The Louisville Water Company after 21 years of service.
Tim was met at the gates of Heaven by his parents Jewell Thomas Payne and Mary Rose Payne; siblings, Tommy, Betty, and Barbara.
He leaves his loving wife of 49 years, Susan Payne; children, Tim Payne JR. (Jennie), Wes Payne (Christy), and Matt Payne (Krista); six grandchildren; siblings Claudette (Bob), and Ed (Glenda).
Tim also leaves many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A funeral service for Tim will be held on Thursday at 11:00am at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home (7710 Dixie Highway) with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
