

John William Streble of Louisville Ky, age 94, passed away on January 31, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1932, fourth child of the late Roy Streble and Iva Streble. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Mae Miles, Velma Reece, and Janice Scott.
John is survived by his five children: J. Mark Streble of Louisville, Susan Streble (Mark Tyler) of Riverside CA, Lisa Darby (Ken Robinette) of Versailles Ky, Tina Jenkins (Herb) of Arrington TN, and Beth Lanshima of Versailles KY.
five grandchildren: Julie Streble, Vanessa Streble, Dianne Streble, Heather Darby, and Meagan Darby; two great grandchildren: Penelope Karem and JD Turner and five siblings: Roy “Bud” Streble, Leslie Streble, Margie Pace, Juanita “Sis” Childress, and Lois Sandefur.
John graduated from Valley High School in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He served with the 37th Armored Infantry Battalion in Korea. After his tour of duty, John earned a teaching degree, with a major of agriculture, at University of Kentucky. He retired from Meade County High School where he enjoyed being a Vocational Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor for 27 years.
He loved gardening and being outdoors. He was a hard worker, always willing to help others, and was known for treating others with respect and kindness.
Visitation will be at Advantage Funeral Home-Hardy Chapel 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. On Sunday, February 8th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and funeral following. Burial at Bethany Cemetery with no graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arbor Day Foundation or the Meade County FFA chapter.
