Born May 21, 1966, in Louisville, Kentucky He believed in being here for a good time—all the time—and he made sure the people around him were, too. Joe lived life to the fullest, stayed true to himself, and had a gift for turning an ordinary moment into a story worth retelling.
Joe was the kind of person who knew how to entertain a room. He could keep you laughing, keep the music playing, and likely convince you that whatever was happening was going to be a great time. He was passionate about softball, loved music, enjoyed going to the track, and never passed up the chance to play poker or try his luck. Whether he was cheering on a game, placing a bet, playing cards, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Joe knew how to make an occasion memorable.
Behind his humor and larger-than-life personality was a deep love for his wife, Kim; his children, Aly and Kyle; and his granddaughter, Kynlee. They were among the greatest joys of his life
He was the kind of man who never seemed to meet a stranger for long. His humor, personality, and ability to make people smile will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kim Brand; his mother, Lou Ann Adair; his father, Paul Brand; and his sister, Phyllis Gorges.
He is survived by his daughter, Aly Brand; his son, Kyle Brand; his granddaughter, Kynlee Brand; his siblings, Billy Brand, Donna Logsdon, Dale Brand, and Lori Redmon; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Joe leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, music, memories, and stories that will only get better with every retelling. He may be gone, but anyone who knew Joe knows he would want us to keep the music on, the cards dealt, the bets friendly, and the good times going.
A Memorial service will be held at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home (previously Arch L. Heady) on June 26, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. With a Celebration of Joe's life to begin at 6:00 pm.
The family invites everyone to come as they are, bring their best Joe story, and help celebrate a man who made life more fun for the people around him.
