Joyce Grace Dohn, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, entered into rest on October 26, 2026. Born January 9, 1951, Joyce lived a life marked by steadfast faith, devoted service, and a sincere, quiet strength that touched countless hearts. Her presence reflected an enduring honesty and a kind-hearted compassion—offered not in grand gestures, but in the consistent, caring ways she showed up for others day after day.
Joyce dedicated her working life to caring for children and families with unwavering diligence. She served as an oncology nurse on 7 West at Kosairs Children’s Hospital for 15 years, bringing both skill and tenderness to some of life’s most difficult moments. Never content to stop learning when more could be done for those in her care, she returned to school and became a nurse practitioner as a pediatric specialist, later continuing her calling through home health care. In every setting, Joyce’s hard work and loving spirit were evident, and her faithful commitment to doing what was right remained a guiding light.
Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived. Joyce did God’s work, and her love for music became one of the ways she shared that faith with others. She loved playing the piano and enjoyed touring and performing with the gospel group the Singing Couriers, offering comfort and hope through song and fellowship.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Dohn; her parents, John and Irene Grace and her sister, Susan Briley.
She is survived by her children, Vonda Campbell, Tracy Akers (Steve), Kimberly Hernandez, and Tonya Davis (Walter); her grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Dylan Campbell, Jordan Collins, Hailey Akers, Gracie Hernandez, Nicholas Johnson Jr., Peyton Hernandez, Ceanna Cockerel, and Nathan Doss; numerous great-grandchildren; and her life partner, David McGinnis.
Those who knew Joyce will remember a woman who was a shining example of strength and kindness—someone whose caring nature made others feel seen, safe, and valued. In a world that always needs more goodness, Joyce offered hers freely. Though her absence is deeply felt, her legacy of faithful service and compassionate love will continue to live on in the family she cherished and the lives she helped shape.
