

Judy peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on June 14, 2026 at the age of 90. She was born on June 14, 1936, in Sturgis, KY, to Oliver Cook and Mary Ruth Dunning.
A devoted follower of Christ, Judy lived her life as an example of grace, compassion, and service. Her faith guided every part of her life, from the way she loved her family, to the way she encouraged friends and everyone blessed to know her. She found joy in prayer, worship, reading her Bible, playing the piano at church, and sharing God’s love through both words and actions.
Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and member of Beulah Land Baptist Church. She treasured time spent with family and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Whether offering wise advice or praying faithfully for others, she made everyone feel cared for and valued.
She will be remembered for her strength, kind spirit, beautiful smile, generous heart, and steadfast faith. Her love and devotion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Her memory is cherished by her daughters, Joni Mathis (Mark), Jenny Carroll (Brian), and Julie Davis (J.P.), her grandchildren, Mandy Lane, Jake Bell, Amber King, Kevin King (Bub), Allie Bell, Ashley Price, and Delaney Lallathin, 14 great-grandchildren, her stepson, Robin Hatfield, and her brother, David Dunning. She is now reunited with her husband, Jack Hatfield, her son, Jeff Bell, her parents, Oliver & Ruth Dunning, and her sister, Lois Sheffer.
Though her family and friends grieve her passing, they rejoice in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. Her life was a testimony to God’s goodness, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road Louisville, KY 40222, starting at 12:00pm, with visitation to be held prior from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
