Lauren Dickens (nee Martin) joyfully entered the world on August 7, 1987 in Anaheim, CA to Chris and Barbara Martin and her big brother, Michael "Mick". They resided in Tustin and Santa Ana, CA for the first 16 years of Lauren's life, where she had many friends throughout her school years there, and maintained those friendships and developed life-long friendships when our family moved to Kentucky in 2003.
Lauren was beloved by her colleagues where she worked at Cordell & Cordell, Attorneys at Law in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to that, she worked for Radiotherapy Centers of Kentuckiana, working with cancer patients. Patients and co-workers alike adored her. Lauren loved working with people experiencing challenges in life and was frequently known to embed her wicked sense of humor to help people through hard times. It worked most of the time. She cared deeply for all people and made a difference in the lives of many.
Lauren married the love of her life, Kevin Dickens on April 5, 2024. They lived and loved each other, building their home and family together in the Tanyard Springs community Hillview, Bullitt County, KY. They enjoyed friendly football rivalries, Lauren, a Packers fan, and Kevin a Bears fan. They found common ground together as Bengals fans. Their home was always filled with love and Lauren's laughter resonated throughout the rooms and into all of our hearts. She was a bright light to all who knew her. She was an amazing mother and loved everyone with her entire soul. Lauren is survived by Kevin and three beautiful children, Ember (16), Jacob (12), and Summer (2), her parents, Chris and Barbara Martin of Windy Hills, KY, her brother Michael "Mick" Martin-Estrada of Springhurst, Kentucky, her precious mother-in-law, Sarah Dickens, Aunt Cathy and Uncle John Allison, Aunt Patti Winter (Tony Vernon) of Anaheim Hills, CA, Uncle Bud (Renee, Allison and Adam) Winter of Costa Mesa, CA, cousins Lisa (Fred) Heitzmann of Huntington Beach, Theresa (Paul, Vivienne and Harper) of Minturn, Co., Christy (Dave, Mat, Deavyn and family) of Big Bear, CA and Joetta (TaraJo) Winter of Sedona, AZ. She is superseded in death by her Amma, Mary Funair, Aunt Judy, Uncle Rick, and Godfather Uncle Boo., and her sweet dog, Sugar.
Friends and family are encouraged to reach out to Kevin, Chris, Barbara, Mick, Emme, Jake and Summer. Our hope is that you will share joys and memories of Lauren now and into the future, to keep her Light and Love present. If you are one of the people she touched, please pay the kindness, love, humor and support she gave you to another as a way to honor her.
Visitation for Lauren will be this Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 1:00 pm--3:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service from 3:00 pm--4:00 pm at Arch L Heady & Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222. An ASL interpreter for the Deaf will be provided during the service for communication access for Mick and our friends in the Deaf Community.
A Go Fund Me fundraiser has been established to help with ongoing expenses for the children as they navigate this world without their mother. All support is appreciated.

Thank you for keeping the Dickens and Martin families in your hearts and prayers as we go through our Earthly life without her.
We know we will all be together again in Heaven.
May the Road Rise up to meet you,
The wind be always at your back
The sun shine warmly on your face
And the rains fall softly in your fields.
And until we meet again,
May the Good Lord hold you in the Hollow of His Hands.
