He was the Cadet Colonel of his ROTC at Male High School and later Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from teaching Industrial Arts at JCPS and his favorite hobby was military history.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Warren Logsdon; and his brother-in-law, Timothy Logsdon.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Sue; brother, Lieutenant Colonel Jesse D. Turley III; brothers and sisters in-law, Mary Breuner (Denny), Charles Logsdon (Carol), Ruthie Davis (Tom); nieces and nephews, Terry Barnett (Bruce), Ellen Dufault (Bill), Jesse Turley (Tanya), Ron Turley, Aaron Davis, Dana Szczepanski (Joe), Kevin Breuner (Stephanie), Josh Logsdon; many great nieces and nephews; extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be at Advantage Funeral Home - Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway, 40272, on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 9:30 am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will immediately follow in Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd, 40218.
Memorial donations in Tommy's honor should be directed to a charity of your choice.
