Marlene Oller, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on August 7, 2026. Born on August 6, 1936, Marlene will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude for a life shaped by steady compassion, quiet strength, and a sincere devotion to others.
In her earlier years, Marlene was a Jeffersonville High School cheerleader and HomeComing Queen—roles that reflected a warm presence and a gracious spirit that remained with her throughout her life. Yet it was in the everyday ways she cared for people that her character was most clearly known: thoughtful in word and deed, generous with her time, and selfless in the help she offered without seeking recognition.
Marlene was a member of Valley View Church, where her faith found expression in practical kindness. She took cancer patients to appointments, cooked for those who were homebound, and consistently chose to show up for others with a gentle, steady heart. Above all, she loved her family, holding them close with the kind of care that makes a home feel safe and a life feel well-lived.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Zella Miller ; her sister, JoAnn Jones; her husbands, Don Yeager and James Goff. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Goff (William); her son, Martin Yeager; and her grandson, Matthew Goff.
Entombment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213, on August 11, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
