Marvin was a proud World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving as an electrician aboard the USS Robert K. Huntington (DD-781). After his military service, he built a long career as a welder, retiring from General Electric. In addition to his work, he faithfully coached for Lyndon Recreation for 15 years, positively impacting the lives of countless young athletes in his community.
Since 1955, Marvin was a faithful member of Lyndon Baptist Church, where he found strength, fellowship, and purpose for more than 65 years. A true University of Kentucky fan, he enjoyed cheering on the Wildcats and sharing in the joy of the game with friends and family.
Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Thelma, and their son, Thomas Conn.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda Grady, and her husband, Tim; his cherished granddaughter, Lindsay Marie Dotzlaf; and his two great-granddaughters, Charlotte Mae and Harper Lynn, who brought him great joy and pride.
Marvin's life was a reflection of loyalty, faith, and love; values he carried with him through every chapter of his journey. He will be remembered for his steadfast spirit, his gentle humor, and the unwavering devotion he showed to those he loved most.
A life well-lived, a legacy well-earned.
