Melissa Lynn Yates

Melissa's life centered around her family. She was proud to be a devoted wife, mother, and MeMe, and treasured the time she spent at home with those she loved. She enjoyed playing bingo, sipping on a cold Mountain Dew, singing karaoke, watching Lifetime movies, going to the beach any chance she could and above all, spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Samantha Goodman.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband and companion of 32 years, Dale Yates; her son, Eddie; her daughter, Whitney; her granddaughter, Desiree Lynn; her siblings, Billie Jean and Robert; along with her aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 10907 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky, 40272, on January 13, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The funeral service will follow at the same location, starting at 1:00 pm on January 13, 2026.

The committal service will take place at Bethany Memorial Cemetery, located at 10917 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY, 40272.
