He was met at the gates of heaven by his parents, Barner and Versie Kirby; brothers Roy, Virgil, Bob, and Junior; sisters Alma and Dorothy.
Melvin is survived by his sisters, Mary Johnson, Shirley Beckham; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Melvin will be on Thursday at 12:00pm at Advantage Funeral Home with burial at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
