

Michael Larry Cheatham, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 He will be remembered for his love of old cars, the many hours he spent in his garage, his appreciation for music, and playing softball in his younger years.
He was born on Monday, May 17, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky, into a large and close-knit family whose presence was well known throughout the Valley Station community.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanine Cheatham; parents, James and Mary Cheatham; his brother, Jimmy Cheatham; and his sister, Dawn Cheatham.
Michael is survived by his children, James (Nikki) Cheatham and Brian (Angela) Cheatham, and his stepdaughter, Ashley Johnson.
He was a proud Papaw to Kyle (Michelle) Cheatham, Natalie (James) Scoggins, Collin Cheatham, Keegan Cheatham, Kayleigh Cheatham, and Bella Johnson. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Charlotte, Autumn, and Hudson.
Michael is also survived by his siblings, Sylvia Moore, Rita (Tom) Lush, Kathy (John) Meyer, Mitchell (Brenda) Cheatham, Glen Cheatham, Dennis Cheatham, Roger (Gerrie) Cheatham, Daryl (Patsy) Cheatham, Rhonda (Charlie), Jackey, and Jeff (Beth) Cheatham, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the same location. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.
