Mickey Dale Arnold

Mickey Dale Arnold, on April 16, 2018 Mickey Arnold went to meet his Heavenly Father. Mickey was in his 80th year. Mickey worked and retired from Ford, Fern Valley Plant where he was a pipe fitter. Throughout his adult life, his goal was to make the best possible life for his family. This, however, did not define who he was.

Mickey also had a love of history. He was a member of Kosmosdale Oral History Project. Their goal was to preserve the history surrounding the community of Kosmosdale in southwest Jefferson County. Mickey had two other hobbies that gave him great pleasure: gardening and woodworking. He enjoyed sharing these with others.

His main passion was serving the Lord. A faithful servant at South Jefferson Baptist Church, Mickey was a deacon, trustee and Sunday school teacher. When he retired, he wanted to serve the Lord in whatever capacity. His favorite quote “Why worry when you can pray.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Pearl Arnold, and a son, Jeffrey Arnold.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Deanna Mae Bennett Arnold, a daughter, Cindy Arnold Reader (Garry) and a daughter-in-law, Gennie Warren Arnold. He also leaves behind a grandson, Logan Arnold (Keirsten), granddaughter, Maegan Arnold and great-granddaughter Miriam. He is also survived by his sister, Jerry Fleming (Don), and two brothers-in-law, Larry Troutman (Lucy) and Gary Troutman (Joyce). There are several nieces and nephews and many friends he made along the way.

A celebration of life for Mickey will be Friday, April 20, 2018, 2:00 PM at advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel. Entombment to follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday April 20, 2018 from 11:00 AM until service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, 10907 Dixie Highway.

In lieu of flowers, the Arnold family is requesting donations be made to South Jefferson Baptist Church.
