Mildred Josephine Shirrell, 104, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Mildred was a longtime member of West Point Methodist Church. She enjoyed tending to her beloved rose garden and was a devoted fan of University of Louisville Men’s Basketball, faithfully cheering on the Cardinals and keeping track of their games.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Shirrell.
Mildred is survived by her children, C. David Shirrell (Sheila), William L. Shirrell (Karen), and C. Lynn Huff; her grandchildren, Heather Schoeneberg (Stephen), Meredith Shirrell, Christopher Shirrell, Michael Shirrell (Lindsey), Katherine Shirrell (Yonni), Kimberly Shirrell, Nicholas Shirrell, and Aaron Huff (Crystal); and her six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at South Jefferson Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
Memorial donations in Mildred’s honor may be made to West Point Methodist Church.
