He is survived by his daughter Paula Dillmann. He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Janis Stewart, and son-in-law Jim Dillmann.
He leaves his brother Dan Herndon (Jamie) and brother-in-law Harry Turner.
He leaves three devoted nephews, Rob Turner, J. D. Herndon and Chase Herndon.
His parents were the late Paul Reece Stewart and Martha Stewart Herndon. Paul’s father passed away when Paul was just 4 months old. His late stepfather was Raymond Herndon.
Paul was predeceased by cherished sister Mala Herndon Hill, who passed away in 1977.
The family would like to thank Forest Springs Health Campus for his excellent care the last two years of his life.
The family would also like to thank special caregiver Pamela Scott for the loving care she showed Paul and Paula the last six months of his life.
The visitation will be held Wednesday 1-4 pm and Friday, 10-11 am. Funeral will be Friday at 11 am. Both services are at Arch L Heady and Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road.
There will be a private burial following the service. Paul will be buried at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Owenton, Ky. He will be buried along with his wife Jan and other family members.
Reverend William Hill will officiate the funeral services.
Paul was a man whose faith was his foundation in life at all times. His daughter chose this verse for his passing:
“Blessed art the pure in heart for they shall see God.”
Matthew 5:8.
