Phyllis Manion Huber passed with dignity on March 19, 2024, she was 75 years old. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 49 years, Herman John Huber III. She is survived by her four loving children; Amy Barron (Tom), Russell Huber (Amanda), Jason Huber (Price) and Joanne Hobgood (Jeff). Additionally she is survived by her caring step-children Angela and Laura, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 7 brothers, 2 sisters, her cat Charlotte and countless people she considered friends.
Phyllis fought a battle with cancer and ultimately lost, like so many of our friends and family. During her fight she did so many wonderful things; she traveled, volunteered for her church (St. Peter the Apostle), and worked for the Jefferson County Public School system all during her retirement years. When we say she fought, she fought! Until the end she never lost that ‘Phyllis grit’ so many people have been privy to. That grit consisted of walking to the beat of her own drum unapologetically, never second guessing her decisions, her signature word choices, leaving any social function early and most importantly, love. She will be deeply missed by so many friends, family and the random person she would wave hello to in the aisle at her local stores. We love you Mom, we will carry your legacy onward and cherish the time we had together.
Phyllis’ visitation will be Monday, March 25, 2024 at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel at 10907 Dixie Hwy. from 2-8 PM. Her mass of Catholic service will be Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:30 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church 5431 Johnsontown Road. Cremation will follow.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in remembrance of Phyllis Huber to Hosparus Health of Louisville or the Kentucky Humane Society.
