He was a devoted father, and loving husband. He was a retired Captain with the Louisville Fire Dept., an Army veteran, and a life member of the American Legion #81, Leitchfield and a member of Valley Masonic Lodge #511.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ollie; brothers, Jake, Paul, Robert and Lloyd; and sisters, Millie, Dora, Ruby and Bell.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen "Durbin"; children, Lisa Florence (Danny), Michael (Sherry), Dwayne (Sally), Craig (Kim) and Marvin (Tammy); 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Vernie of Cabool, MO.
His service will be 12 p.m. on Saturday at the W. G. Hardy Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
