Born June 19, 1921, in Oconee County, South Carolina, to Luther and Ruth McAlister, Rebecca Lila Carter entered into the Eternal Kingdom of Our Lord Jesus Christ the 6th day of October, 2016. She was recently preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, the Reverend John Elias Carter. She served faithfully alongside her husband in the ministry of the Okolona Baptist Church for over 64 years. Rebecca is survived by her three loving children: John Knight Carter, Paul Wade Carter (Bonnie), and Brenda Carter Rupe (Bill); four grandchildren: John Matthew Carter, George Adam Carter (Jennifer) Meredith Leigh Caple (Justin) and John Paul Carter; and seven great-grandchildren: Joshua Riley Carter, John Cameron Carter, Justin Nathaniel Carter, Kaden Alexander Carter, Addison Taylor Carter, Caroline Grace Caple and Andrew Wallace Caple. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday October 10, 2016, at the Okolona Baptist Church, 9301 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky with burial to follow in Hebron Cemetery, Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held at the Okolona Baptist Church, Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Okolona Baptist Church.
