

Robert "Bob" Lewis Whitaker, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the age of 82 in Louisville, KY. He was born on November 5, 1943, in Leitchfield, KY, to the late William Albert Whitaker and Zelma (Sadler) Whitaker.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia "Patty" Sue Whitaker; his children, Gregory Whitaker (Shannon), Lisa Vann (Danny Paul), and Missy Ziady (Samer); his cherished grandsons, Zachary (Delaney), Luke, Harrison, Brandon, Dillon, Ethan, and Aiden; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his beloved siblings, Dwayne Whitaker, Brenda Whitaker, Gwen Goodnight, and Wanda Knight. Bob will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
With a career that spanned over thirty-six years, Bob was a proud and respected employee of Brown-Forman, where his commitment to excellence and camaraderie left a lasting impression.
An avid fan of the University of Kentucky, Bob's enthusiasm for sports was infectious. He could often be found in lively conversation about the latest game, his passion bringing people together. Bob, "Holy Moly", was also a fervent member of the River City Poker League, where his thoughtful strategies and love for the game were always on display.
Bob's joys in life extended to the great outdoors, where he found solace in fishing and hunting. He had an interest in woodworking, which demonstrated his artistic side, and he also held a special place in his heart for horses, embodying Kentucky's rich equestrian history.
Bob will be deeply missed but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March. 11th, 2026, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Arch L. Heady & Son – Westport Village funeral home, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40222. The funeral service will take place the next day, Thursday, March 12th, at the same location, beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Floydsburg Cemetery, 5600 Old Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, Kentucky 40014.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bob’s honor to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
