Ronald Lee Moore

Born in Louisville on September 23, 1948, Ronald Lee Moore was one of twelve siblings. He went home to the Lord on Wednesday, November 13 2019. His parents, Evelyn (Newton) and Clarence Moore, and his eldest sister and brother-in-law, Janelle and Art Mount preceded him in death.

He enjoyed three years at Butler High School and tolerated his final year at Southern High School, graduating in 1966. A skilled athlete, Ron joined the professional circuit in his second-favorite sport, bowling. In 1973, in Syracuse, NY, he led his team to win the American Bowling Congress, the first time in history for a team from Kentucky. After retiring from pro bowling, he devoted his time to his favorite sport, golf, and joined his brother Darrell’s electronics start-up, launching a 30 plus year award-winning sales career.

A content and confirmed bachelor, Ron’s world changed completely in May 1999, when he met Diane Frederick on Long Run Golf Course. They were married less than a year later and Ron dove into his new role as honorary-father, grandfather, and family comedian. He and Diane were active members of Southeast Christian Church, and he valued the many friendships and the community he found there. Although he joined our family later in life, he leaves a void as if he has always been there.

In addition to Diane and his honorary children, he leaves behind seven devastated grandchildren, 28 nieces and nephews, his siblings, Charles Moore, Bobbie Moore (Mary Edna), Kenny Moore (Kathy), Marcelline Harmon, Darrell Newton (Estella), Barbara Kelley (Howard), Betty Grammer (Richard), Mary Menefee (Larry), Sherry Moore, and Richard Moore, and his beloved Dachshunds, Willie and Maggie.

All are invited to celebrate Ron’s life Monday, November 18th at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy, Louisville, Ky 40243. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM with a Celebration of Life service at 11:30.
