Rosie was devoted to her family, she was blessed to be a stay at home mother and grandmother for most of her life. She went back to working full-time when her husband Brett became sick, but she still took such great care of Brett, Lisa and their home during this time as well. Her children describe her as the strongest, most loving and caring person they’ve ever known. She was always there for everyone and was a great listener and counselor.
She always dreamed of having a farmhouse in the country, I believe that’s where she is right now in heaven, on her farm holding hands with Brett watching the dogs play.
She spent so much time with her kids, she would play Star Wars, Pac Man, Barbies, whatever John and Michele wanted. Then came Lisa, more time playing with plastic kitchens and dolls, and when Brett would go hunting they would have a girl’s night and watch movies. She loved her children and spent quality time with each of them, those special memories will always be cherished.
She loved spending time spoiling her grandkids, she would cook them their favorite foods that only Mamaw could make that way. She would also introduce them to scary movies and tell them to keep that as their little secret. And she taught them how to do chores, you better have two hands on that mop, she was so funny. The grandkids loved going to stay with their Mamaw!
She loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. There was nothing like being at her house and seeing all the decorations. She also loved going to the pumpkin patch in the fall with her family.
Rosie was also very close with her neighbors, Dan and Vicki; and Bev and Jess. It’s no surprise they became so close, she considered them family. Her and Vicki would become best friends, they would always check on each other.
Rosie lived a great life, but she had some tough times too. She would share that she prayed daily and trusted God with everything, the good and the bad. God blessed her with so many gifts – Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. If these sound familiar it’s because they are the Fruits of the Spirit, she lived them out for all to see.
Let’s celebrate her life and pass forward these gifts that she shared with us. She would want us to keep our eyes on Jesus, thank God for all we have, pray, and trust God with everything.
