Known by many names, Rose Ann, Rose, Rosie, RoRo, Ro and Pup Cup Lady, Rose was born on May 22, 1941 to Leo and Amelia Muenninghoff, finally a girl after 4 boys! She attended St Helen Parochial School and graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1959.
She started working in 1960 for a Shively physician, Dr. John Wolford. Rose continued working in that practice which ultimately had many cardiologists and was known as Cardiovascular Associates. She worked for 46 years in basically the same practice, same part of town.
Rose found that she loved to travel. She traveled coast to coast, north to south and loved every minute of it. Not bad for a lady that didn't drive out of Shively, except for an unplanned 3 hour drive on a Sunday. Her philosophy, if you can't get it in Shively, you don't need it. She was known for her great cakes, and her love of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Rose was a faithful member of Mary Queen of Peace and was a fixture in her assigned seat at 4 p.m. mass on Saturday. Her church friends will miss her.
She was pre-deceased by her parents and 3 brothers, Bobby, Billy (Fox) and Chick. Rose is survived by brother Tom (Charlene) sister Dottie Ledington (Joe), sisters-in-law Carolyn Mueninghoff and Edna Mueninghoff. She leaves 8 nieces and 1 nephew.
Several great nieces and nephews, 4 great-great nieces, 1 great-great nephew and several honorary nieces and nephews. She loved her 4-legged pups too!
Her visitation will be Monday 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Parish in Shively. Burial will be at St Joe Hill Cemetery in Sellersburg, Indiana.
Memorial remembrances may be sent to Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church 4005 Dixie Hwy Louisville, Ky 40216
