Roy B.Wells, 81, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, on July 29, 1944 to Una Maria Dykes and Herschel Wells. He graduated from Butler High School in 1962 and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1962-1967 as a helicopter mechanic stationed at New River, N.C.
He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 33 years (1967-2000), was a member of Mt. Washington First Baptist Church, and past member of Lees Lane Baptist Church.
Roy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Adams) Wells. His daughter, Michele Clark (David), his son, Brian Wells (Amy), five grandchildren, Brandon Clark (Bryana), Emily Beaven (Matthew), Megan Wells, Kate Wells, and Sarah Wells. Four sisters, Doris Gottesman, Teresa Rauch Loeblich, Sue Sheridan, Sherry White (Eugene), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10am-2pm Friday July 10 at Advantage Funeral Home - Heady Dixie, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by a funeral service at 2:00. Burial with military honors will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
