Sherry McGivern

Sherry Lynne McGivern, a beloved resident of West Point, Kentucky, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on October 17, 1944, Sherry was known for her warm spirit and cherished presence among family and friends.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a retired post-master of West Point Kentucky. She loved basketball and going to U.K. games. Sherry was the most loving mother and grandmother anybody could ever ask for. She was so special in so many ways to her family especially.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Thomas McGivern III, her mother Ethel Fisher, father Harvey Fisher, sister Betty Fisher, Aunt Dorothy Gasque.

She is survived by her son Thomas A. McGivern IV, her granddaughter Sabrina Blair, great-grandchildren Destiney Yarborough, Christian Casey, and Gage Goben, her great-great-grandchildren McKinley and Mia Yarborough, Nylah, Kooper, Willow and Tatum Goben.

A visitation will be held on November 26, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Advantage Funeral Home-Hardy Chapel, located at 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 12:00 pm.

The committal service will take place at Bethany Memorial Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272, at 1:00 pm on the same day.

Sherry will be remembered for her kindness and her enduring impact on those who knew her. Her loss will be deeply felt by all.
