Susan Kay (Allen) Payne

Born in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, August 12, 1956, Susan was the daughter of the lates’ Carl Thomas Allen and Ruth J. Fryrear. She was a former office manager, working in the office of Dr. Larson and was a member of Fairdale Christian Church. She loved to collect Beanie Babies and Snowmen.

Susan was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her parents, Carl Thomas and Ruth Fryrear Allen; her husband, John Timothy Payne; her brother, Carl Wayne Allen; her sister, Patricia Ann Wicker; her grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Susan leaves behind her children, Tim (Jennie) Payne, Jr., Wes (Christy) Payne and Matt (Krista) Payne; six grandchildren, Mikia, Maci, Aubrey, Savannah, Marlee and Jantzen; her siblings, Karen (Buddy) Tinnell, Greg (Karla) Allen and Doug (Lesa) Wicker; plus, a host of other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Heady – Hardy Funeral Home. Following the service, Susan will be laid to rest in Bethany Cemetery, alongside her husband for eternity. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. also at Heady – Hardy Funeral Home.
