Thomas Leo Houchin

He was a retired machinist for Brown & Williamson, a member of Briargate Presbyterian Church, and former member of Faith Presbyterian Church. Tom was past President of the AFLCIO Greater Louisville Retirees, proud union member of Kentucky Machinist Union 681, a board member of Riverside Farnsley Moreman Landing, longtime member of the Thoroughbred Chorus, 50 year member of the A&A Scottish Rite, 50 year member of Valley Daylight Masonic Lodge 511, and was Kosair Shriner.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Bayer Houchin; children, Kathy Brooks (Tommy), Laura Lee (Mark), Sherry Ross (Chris), and David Jacobs; brothers Danny Houchin (Cathy) and Wayne Houchin; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
