

Wayne Shelton, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born to Joseph and Myrtle Shelton, Wayne was a proud Army Vietnam Veteran and a devoted member of his community.
Wayne had a passion for cars, especially Ford vehicles, and was known for his skill as a mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and spent countless hours in his garage, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family. A true lover of the outdoors, Wayne found joy in fishing, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Myrtle Shelton, his beloved wife Liz Shelton, daughter Sharon Baker, his stepson Tony Waddell, and his brother-in-law Charlie Wilson. Wayne leaves behind his loving companion, Theresa Waddell, as well as his children, Wayne Shelton Jr. (Mickey Knuckles), Kimberly Shelton, and Jeremy Waddell. He will also be deeply missed by his sisters, Mary Wilson and Joyce Marsh, and his grandchildren, Titus and Electra Shelton, Nathaniel Shelton, Jareth VanDeVenter, Clay Loibi, and Jeremiah Waddell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, October 16, from 10:00 AM until the service at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Hwy. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM, with entombment to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
Wayne will be remembered for his love of family, his mechanical skills, and his sense of humor. His presence will be missed by all who knew him.
