

She grew up in Springfield, MA on Judson St. She graduated from Classical High School. She graduated from Bates University with 2 Bachelors in Science in Mathematics and Psychology.
She worked for Texas Employment Commission - Unemployment (Lubbock) Early 80's, Texas Employment Commission - Auditor (Midland)Mid 80's-Late 90's, Ector County School district - Teacher late 90's, and MCI/ATT Caller Center (Lubbock) 2000's thru 2022.
In her time at Bates she helped to start the student government they currently have. She played the violin and over her lifetime spoke 4 languages; Polish, English, French , and German. She loved reading (romance), Classical Music, Simon & Garfunkel, 60's music,Essential oils, hot tea, Bible study, Roses, especially green, tulips, lilies, Coffee, a good joke,gardening, playing cards and beating husband who played cutthroat, cats, Snoopy, Star Trek, and the weather Channel.
She lived in New England, California, and Texas due to Marrying Vernon Johnson and the Navy.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Ray Johnson, Jr of 40 years., her Daughter, Brandie Hobden, her parents; Anne and Milton Wawrzonek, and her sister Cynthia Donovan.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Johnson of Lubbock, Tx, daughter, Bonnie Masters (Kyle) of Wichita Falls, Tx, grandsons: James (Yasmin), Josef, Liam, Thomas, and Wesley (Hannah). Granddaughters: Stormy, Wynter, Charlotte, Dawn (Parker), great grandsons; Dean and Kayce. Goddaughter; Katie Donovan of Hartford, Ct, relative Grant Kibbey, multiple brother- and sister-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews.
