

Services for Kenneth Wooten, 70, of Apple Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jimmy Coil officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooten Cemetery in Etoile.
Kenneth was born December 28, 1943 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 in a Wells nursing facility.
Kenneth was a devoted son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a fireman for the Houston Fire Department for more than 20 years, where he served as Captain for many years. He enjoyed country music and traveling.
Survivors include his mother, Lila Mae Pyle Wooten; sons, Bryan Wooten and Rodney Wooten, both of Apple Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Kerry Campbell of Goodrich; granddaughters, Desirae Drumm, Samantha Wooten, Kaylie Campbell, and Courteney Campbell; great-grandson, Easten Beech; brother and sister-in-law, Lawson and Carolyn Wooten of Richmond; and a number of other family members.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Wooten; stepfather, Clarence Pyle; brother, Edwin Wooten; and nephews, Ronnie Wooten and Lee Wooten.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
